transcendence
When its cold outside ... And raining in your eyes... Does your light... Waver? When its bleak ... At night... And no sound... In sight... Can you hear the song... Inside you? When the fears shutter free... But the glory is yet to be... Will you forge the righteous way... With no visible path? ~ Carrie Able
This show spans a variety of media by a bevy of talented visual artists. On the cover we have the brilliant sculptural installation constructed of strings, mesh wire and tinted rubber by Kyugjin Kim. Samantha Holmes intricately explores the relationship between science and spritualtiy with her magnificent steel sculpture. Maha Alasaker’s intimate photos transcend the identity issues of one culture. Katie Kost uses a mixed media of natural pigments to create sculptural works on canvas. Barbara Hatfield makes lyrical use of ink on paper. Scout Dunbar uses mixed media to create an open ended interpretation of emotional abstraction. Klimentina Jauleska Vasilev defies the boundaries of 2D with media exploding out of their frames. Constantine Gedal uses a combination of drawing and photography to unveil an stunning composition and an otherworldly experience for the viewer. I am honored to have these talent artists transform and transcend our physical space at the Carrie Able Gallery.
